A little bit later in the week than normal (I had a special music show on TPN Rock out for Barack Obama’s Inauguration, you can find it here) but still managing one a week for 2009 without stumbling next. This week’s show discusses security and firmware hacks with the release of 5.03 of the PSP firmware, and a look at the PSN Collections. These UMD’;s have three games each, of titles previously available to buy over the internet. Good marketing ploy or desperate need to get a new two new UMD titles out? That’s for you to decide.
As always, can listen and subscribe to the show in Apple’s iTunes – and leave your own review there as well. You also have the PSP Show’s Facebook Group, which can be found here.

Thanks!
I know what you mean about havin’ beats, etc.on the memory stick, especially because they are more “short bursts” games as opposed to GoW etc.
IMO, u shud leave out music at the review, or even very faint. But its not gonna stop me listening!

Hmm,
I’ve always thought of the PSN UMD’s as a subsitute. There are people who cant access the Playstation Store, and this is an alternative route for them to still get the games.
The music. The first couple of shows you had background music in the review time. It was okay, but a bit too loud sometimes. Now you have decided to add it again, and again I find it a bit too loud. It has to be background music, and with game music, which is always energetic, its hard to keep it in the background. Just try to keep it low, at least lower than your voice, and its okay with me.

Another great show, i think these UMD’s are great and are very good value and also of course offer people who don’t have the internet or who basically don’t want to buy over internet, the option to buy online games.
I purchased the ‘Power Pack’ and im really enjoying ‘Flow’ and ‘Beats’, not everyone has the internet, so it’s a welcome treat for people to enjoy the unique experience of games such as ‘Flow’.
As for the shows Music in the game review, i think its a great feature, in the reviews such as ‘Flow’, the music really helped. It’s perfectly fine as long as it’s low volume.

Thank you, the reviews were much better without the music, and the music during the news wasn’t a problem after adjusting the levels. Thanks for making the change.
