Over the summer, the big changes to Sony were announced at the Game Developer Conference from Leipzig, with news on the Go! range, the latest game titles and of course the news on the Sony PSP Slim and Lite. In terms of reviews, as promised it’s Eidos’ Diner Dash; originally a flash based game, does this little puzzle/action game give you enough bite to see you through the gaming day?

Yay! how was the Fringe?
Ewan, isnt the unbricker news? And I have the feeling you forgot about the compo… Loved the show. bought Diner Dash before the vacation, had great fun with it.

Ye i though the unbricker would be news, as my psp was bricked and now its not, and i can listen to the psp podcats on my psp again!!
Cheers for the review, i might go out and rent this game to see what its about!

On the unbricker, it’s geared to people who (a) have done some firmware hacking and (b) have cocked up. That’s a VERY narrow target audience for the podcast listeners, and the few people it would be relevant to will be super aware of it already. So to me it falls outside the remit of the show.

Good to see you FINALLY back Ewan but what about the compo ?!?

Ok you are right bout that.
?
But like eddie, what about the compo
and remember the question you asked to listeners; make your own game? You liked the drag race idea. There is a dragrace game!!! NHRA: Countdown to the Championship
It looks cool, but I don’t know if I’ll order it….

Ive got NHRA: Countdown to the Championship!!
My personal opinion on it is if you have ever seen drag racing and are into the tuning of car engines then this game is good. The graphics are really good (better than the PC version, Championship editon) but if you know limited about drag racing this game will get old really quick. I personally love it. But then again thats just my opinion.

I like dragracing, but what can you actually DO in the game?
September 4th, 2007 at 6:46 am
Well theres quick race and championship mode. In the championship mode you get a choice in using top fuel dragsters, funny cars, pro stock and pro stock bikes. At the begging of each race you tune up your cars engine and other stuff, or you can just click auto tune. Then in the actual race, you first have to lay a strip of rubber down on the ground, by doing a huge burnout. You then got to slowly aproach the line, without crossing it because then you will get DQ. Next is to press ‘x’ to go, now of course it is a straight line, but the speed in which you are going at makes it very hard but fun to try and keep in your lane. And once you cross the finishing line you deploy the parachutes to slow you down, otherwise you let the sandpit at the end do its job.
Now if you crash or and engine blowout happens, money will be deducted from your account.
In quick race mode there is the option to race jet cars and bikes, which is really fun becuase you can use an afterburner!!
Hope that clears it up for you.
