DOWNLOAD the podcast by right clicking on this link or press play and listen in your browser.

And moving on rapidly from the Heatseeker interview it’s back with a regular show. The PSP isn’t all shooting arcade action, as the review today illustrates. The Harvest Moon franchise comes to the Playstation Portable with An Innocent Life. Farming, role playing, questing, and learning to cook all in one package? Yep!

I’m also asking “What Would You Do If You Were Sony?” More in the podcast on that as well, but I’m looking forward to your comments on this one!

    hey mate
love your show and listen to every ep. would u be able to find out from sony some legit info on when the psp camera is going to be released in australia?, and is tv on psp going to happen without a location free player or any other attachments. is it just a roomer. They should work on an areil that allows tv anywhere or at least in built up areas. A quick reply in ep 44 would be appreciated
    thanx, from brad

YAY,First post :-) Good show Ewan with some nice ideas thrown in.I was just wondering,
are you going to do a review of the New PSP Camera (Go-Cam) thats soon to come out ??
    Cheers Eddie.

What Sony Should do IMO :

    1. Updates
Basicly I find it stupid that almost 2/3 of updates are to do with blocking homebrew. Just accept that Homebrew will always hack you. Put your Team onto creating new features Not blocking Homebrew. Now lets just see.. what about these features ^^. If there gets a point where a PSP virus happens then block it but it is unlikely.

    2. Brower update!
The Browser on the PSP is almost useless. Not only is a keyboard Desperatly needed but everytime you load up Web 2.0 webpages it runs out of memory due to many images… Why don’t they let you use your Memory stick for Ram!

    3. Demos
As you have said on previous shows, I think they should give a weekly or bi-weekly Day and on that day they release 1 or 2 demos to the public. It is all a bit random at the moment. Why don’t they take a leaf out of Nintendo’s book and hav a section on the Network menu for a page where you can download them and view new demos ( The Wii’s shop channel ) Finding the demos on the internet from the PSP takes ages. The RSS channel with demos woudl be even better though and I think someone from Sony should visit you so they take the Ideas you made down

    4. Homebrew ( Kinda expansion on point 1. )
I think that sony shouldn’t exactly make it simple to have homebrew on your PSP as it would be bad for it but sort of let it happen if they want it to. I mean Most PSP owners won’t want to risk bricking their PSP if they don’t have to so they would chose to continue with Sony’s updates but the people who want to run Homebrew don’t have to keep fighting ( and they will untill sony Give up, Communty always come out ontop )

  6. Ediddy Says:

This is the thing that I think that Sony needs to do.
I think that they need a feature on the PSP that could be accessed via wifi on the X-media bar that would allow you to buy games, but not old PSOne games, I am thinking more of the lines on the XBOX 360 arcade style of games. I think that many of those games are for short plays and would fit great as a short game play feature on the PSP. Most of the games are very small downloads. They are also very well done. I think that playing something like Boom Boom Rocket on the PSP screen would look great, or maybe even a multiplayer game of TMNT Arcade over infrastructure. I think that Microsoft has done a great job with the arcade, bringing games that are small but fun to all types of gamers. Most of the games are fairly simple and I would pay a few bucks to download them. Just think if they could give us games that are bite size and fun.

I really enjoy the show. Keep them coming.

    Thanks,

    Emilio

I agree with Adam about the web browser issue, Such as the problems with web 2.0 pages, Sony should really get Netfront to improve this. Google maps on the PSP would be nice :)

Another issue is the flash player needs an update as well, I’m sure youtube support could be added if they gave us RAM to use on the memory stick like adam said.

  8. codess Says:

    hey ewan,
is trailercasttv down? cause I only get wordpress errors…

  9. stevo Says:

hey ewan just like to know is there a way to get the new firmwere without having to format your memory stick. if you could post that in one of your shows that would be great i listen to all of your shows. and thanks again . from stevo

  10. Adam Casey Says:

I think I can answer that Stevo, If you download the Update either by the selection “Network Update” or by getting it off a website such as yourpsp.com then put it in your “GAME” Folder then go to the Memory stick under GAME in the PSP menu and select the update and it will update it’s self

If you mean a ‘homebrew’ update then I don’t know

  11. whoelse Says:

You dont need to format your mem stick for any update. Custom or official. Though you do need to format the flash and also for cfw restore default settings.
